Dr. Phil McGraw, perhaps the most well-known mental health professional in the world, is the host of the #1 daytime talk show Dr. Phil. Now in its 17th season, this trailblazing and award-winning show continues to provide the most comprehensive forum on mental health issues in the history of television. Dr. McGraw has a unique ability to take complicated and technical information and make it accessible and understandable to the general public. 
 

In addition to Dr. Phil, Dr. McGraw is the author of nine #1 New York Times bestsellers, published in 39 languages with over 33 million copies in print. Because of his broad training, education and experience in the field of psychology, and his unique ability to communicate in common sense language, Dr. McGraw is frequently called upon for his expert opinion on current events by major national and international news outlets. Dr. McGraw’s constant desire to provide unique opportunities to improve the lives of the general public  led him to create several innovative and game-changing businesses, including a revolutionary system to deliver medical and psychiatric care, developed with his son, Jay McGraw.
 

Dr. McGraw and his wife, Robin, are well known for their tireless advocacy for children and families. In 2003, Dr. McGraw established the Dr. Phil Foundation, a nonprofit charitable organization funding many worthy projects benefitting disadvantaged children and families. In addition to direct gifts provided to those in need, the McGraws have supported many charitable organizations, including the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). The McGraws devoted countless hours to CASA’s recruitment project, generating an increase of $100 million of volunteer services in just one year.

Dr. McGraw was honored with a presidential citation by the American Psychological Association in 2006 for his significant contributions. The Dr. Phil show has received 27 Emmy nominations and won 5 PRISM awards for the accurate depiction of drug, alcohol and tobacco abuse and addiction, as well as a MADD Media Award. In 2015, Dr. McGraw was inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame, an honor bestowed on the pioneers, visionaries and stars of the electronic arts.
 

Dr. McGraw earned a Doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of North Texas, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship in forensic psychology from the Wilmington Institute. Dr. McGraw was a licensed psychologist in the state of Texas where he practiced clinical psychology and developed one of the country’s first multi-modal protocols for the treatment of chronic pain. With training and expertise in both clinical and forensic psychology, Dr. McGraw founded CSI (Courtroom Sciences, Inc.), an innovative consulting firm specializing in all aspects of litigation support, providing multi-disciplinary expertise  in all areas of litigation and forensic arenas, including some of the country’s most high-profile cases.
 

Dr. McGraw earned a B.A. from Midwestern State University and an M.A. and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of North Texas, which was followed by a year of post-doctoral training in Forensic Psychology at The Wilmington Institute. Dr. McGraw was a licensed psychologist in the State of Texas and practiced clinical psychology where he developed a multimodal treatment protocol for chronic pain patients. With his training and interest in forensic psychology, Dr. McGraw founded CSI (Courtroom Sciences, Inc.), a consulting firm specializing in litigation strategies performing a wide variety of forensic activities. After 25 years he retired from practice as a licensed psychologist to devote full time to his educational media platform.
 

An avid tennis player, golfer and scuba diver, Dr. McGraw lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Robin. The couple, married 42 years, is totally devoted to their family, including sons Jay and Jordan, and Jay’s wife, Erica. They are the ridiculously proud grandparents of Avery Elizabeth and London Phillip.

As a producer and on-air talent for ESPN LA’s ‘The Experience with LaFern Cusack’ she covered compelling stories of courageous people who empower and unite communities. LaFern also hosted “The Playground” for Radio Disney AM1110, ‘Parkour That Inspires’ for the World Freerunning and Parkour Federation (WFPF), "It's Your Call" for City TV Santa Monica, co-hosted ‘Broad Topics’ also for City TV Santa Monica/LA Talk Radio and Samm Brown's: For The Record on KPFK-FM a weekly behind-the-scenes look into the entertainment industry.
 

As a host, performer and voiceover professional, LaFern has appeared in ABC's “Boston Legal,” “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” FOX's “The Bernie Mac Show,” SciFi's “Bats-Human Harvest,” Lifetime's "What Should You Do?" and Universal Pictures' pilot “The 900 Lives of Jackie Frye.” Her stage performances include Robey Theatre Company's “Dessalines” and “Permanent Collection” which was revived at the Kirk Douglas Theatre.  Emmy Winning Director, Chuck Smith cast her in “The Temple” at ETA, “Ma Rainey's Black Bottom,” “Blues For An Alabama Sky” at the Goodman Theatre and also at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.
 

Cusack was awarded with the 2011 Golden Buccaneer Award for broadcasting and community excellence for the Print Interactive Radio and Television Educational Society (PIRATES), Alliance for Women in Media (AWM) National Rising Star BELL Award for Excellence, BELL Award for Outstanding Fundraising- Financial and was presented with the 2010 AWM SoCal Tracey Miller Merit Award for her commitment to the community and broadcasting industry. Former Los Angeles Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa also recognized LaFern's outstanding community service at the Environmental Youth Conference.
 

LaFern dedicates much of her time and expertise toward positively impacting her community. She has been involved with several philanthropic causes dedicated to health and education including the Glaucoma Research Foundation, Jason David’s Corner Foundation, Lullalee’s Literacy For Children and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Cusack currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Alliance for Women in Media SoCal Chapter. She is also a member of the Screen Actors Guild, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and Actors Equity Association.
